IDIA employs various measures to achieve its aim of increasing diversity:

1. Sensitization programmes
In order to spread awareness even in the remotest parts of the country, IDIA undertakes pan-India movement with the help of student volunteers. The sensitization of students involves making them aware about law school education and identifying the prospective students from the under-represented section who have potential.
The local chapters, operating out of New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ranchi, Jodhpur, Gangtok, Bhopal, Cochin, Gandhinagar, Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Patna, Cuttack, Hyderabad and a sub-chapter at Pune play a vital role in expanding the movement.

2. CLAT Training

Once the students with potential are identified, they are called IDIA Trainees and are subsequently guided by volunteers through the CLAT process. The collaboration with IMS, a leading CLAT training center, along with CLAT Gyan and various others ensure that the trainees are given study-materials free of cost.

3. Funding IDIA Scholars

In order to reduce the economic burden of the IDIA scholars, IDIA aims to appeal to the National Law Universities to introduce fee-waiver or scholarship to students who fall below a particular income bracket. Further, the scholars are funded from a general pool that IDIA collects as grants from donors, including law firms, lawyers, law teachers, students and others who support the cause.

Thus, the project will result in marginalized/disadvantaged communities benefiting from quality legal education from the top law schools of India.

IDIA Odisha Chapter, in pursuance to its initiative of increasing diversity in legal education, has planned to organize a Model United Nation on 26-28 February 2016. The primary objective of the MUN being increasing the diversity and promoting the awareness in legal education through the medium of MUN. Model United Nations is a popular activity for increasing awareness whose ambit is not only limited to arena of law but also other fields of study. MUN’s are structured to juxtapose the objectives of increasing awareness and shaping the personality of the member students in a completely different sphere useful especially in legal field. The first of its kind MUN will help the students and the University to be exposed to the underlying objective it carries. IDIA being a premiere organization in increasing awareness and diversity in legal education, has taken a step forward to organize the fund raising event with the ulterior motive of achieving its objective.
